updater proposal

Postby seb4stien » Tue Jul 30, 2013 9:28 pm

Hi,

I started looking at extending the current updater to check for add-ons updates too.
(Following this thread : viewtopic.php?f=1&t=725).

My current work looks like this :

Major changes with the previous version :
- replaced the "history" preview with a link to the changelog file
- added links to component homepage for download

What do you think of the look & feel ?

A question regarding contributions :
- is it better to fork on github and then create pull requests
- or to create a user/feature branch in the upstream repo ? (needs some access I suppose)

Sebastien,

If you feel like want to strengthen the project team and do more or less regular work you are welcome, let me know and you get the main repository write access. For unregular contributions it is better to fork and to work with the pull requests.

Not sure to be able to contribute often.
I created a pull request : https://github.com/freeplane/freeplane/pull/23
and commented some diff lines.

Sorry for not posting for so long. Thanks to seb4stien the add-on updater is reality now. See the new Wiki page on [http://freeplane.sourceforge.net/wiki/index.php/How_to_publish_add-ons how to publish add-ons].

@Sebastien: Could you please check and correct the wiki page? I have used your text from the discussion page.

Regards, Volker

Hello, thank you for the wiki page.
I don't see updates to make for the moment.
