Pinning to taskbar/grouping workaround

Pinning to taskbar/grouping workaround

Postby carlbrusse » Thu Oct 18, 2012 4:20 am

I was wondering if there was a way to make freeplane behave like a regular program with respect to the Windows7 taskbar - let a pinned taskbar shortcut 'group' the launched window. It's possible to force this with freemind by amending the shortcut path to:

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre6\bin\javaw.exe" -jar lib/freemind.jar

but I can't find the right .jar to do this with freeplane.

thanks in advance,

Carl

Maybe a look into freeplane.bat (part of the installation) would help but I'm not sure.

Thank you! hadn't noticed the .bat file.

Took a bit of trial and error, but for the record the string in the "Target:" field that works for me is:

Code: Select all
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre6\bin\javaw.exe" -Xmx512m "-Dorg.knopflerfish.framework.bundlestorage=memory" "-Dorg.knopflerfish.gosg.jars=reference:file:core/" -jar framework.jar -xargs props.xargs -xargs init.xargs

with 'Start in' set to the Freeplane directory. I'm using freeplane portable installed to a location outside the Program Files directory (because of admin lockdowns on a work computer), so mine was
Code: Select all
C:\Data\Apps\FreeplanePortable\App\Freeplane

Using Windows 7 64 bit. Imagine the relevant folder details will be different for others.

Thanks again for the feedback!

I'm lost, okay, so how do I pin Freeplane to my taskbar? I'm using Windows7.
