How to get New Child Node to insert to the right by default

Postby mark522 » Tue Aug 16, 2011 10:38 am

How do I set up Freeplane to always insert a New Child Node to the RIGHT of the central node. By default it always wants to insert to the left of the main node.

Thank you.

Hi Mark

(My comments relate to latest preview version 1.2.8)

I dont think there is a way to do that. I just drag the offending nodes across to right. Luckily, all grandchild nodes *are* opened to one side thereafter. For the central node: left side insertion is actually not the default (even if it often seems like that). Rather a balanced number of nodes on either side is the operative principle: you probably just happen to always have more nodes on the right.

There is one (albeit limiting) way to do it. Choose "Outline View" from Main Menu/View.

Cheers
